What you can do... Although we originally published these action items more than a year ago at the end of our original Upoc article, (click here for that) we find more and more that people are asking us, "What can I do to help" and decided to create this Action Items page which we can link everywhere and will be easy to read and implement. So, here we go: - Join our forum. There you can read, learn, comment and get involved. (click here)
- Contact Upoc's wireless companies which carry their service. Let them know the kind of dangers present in the mobile web and point them here for more information. Ask them if they really think sites geared and marketed towards kids should have illegal themed usergroups for drug use, rape, incest and pedophilia. (click here for a list of Upoc's carriers)
- Contact Upoc's channel advertisers. Tell them the same things listed above and ask them the same question. (click here for a list of companies which advertise on Upoc)
- Spread the word. Link everyone you see everywhere to this site. Link it on your blogs, your MySpace, and your Upoc profiles. Send the link via text message to Upoc groups which have high membership numbers. Become a nuisance to Upoc. Click here for a list of Upoc management. Badger them, pester them, demand answers.
You may post any replies you get in the forum, and also post all emails, letters, or other communication you have regarding this from carriers, advertisers, and even Upoc itself. Join our grassroots movement and help delete mobile web predators.
